I will try and remember this, I love reading your blog posts, as I have two boys with autism myself
I just bookmarked this page and will use it to get to Amazon. I shop there all the time. I appreciate the insight your blog gives. I've been a special ed teacher for 22 years, the past 3 working exclusively with students with Autism. I worry about my son's future .. the world is not going to change for him – so I would have to agree I would change him, so he could cope better with this world.
I saw this documentary the other day on PBS–a film about autistics from their point of view, not a clinician's. It's called Neurotypical (many autistic adults refer to "normies" as "neurotypicals").

I love that you are local and you have a clear point of view. I work with autistic kids, but in the realm of helping them emote (not that this is difficult for most these kids). Managing their emotions is more my goal. There is an awesome weighted snake on this site:
