An Update on the King's School & School Bus Situation…

I hope you enjoy this long rambling video blog post that I recorded on my drive home this evening.

 In the video I give an update on how the king school and school bus situation or working out.
Sorry it’s so long and I’m babbling so much. And the cameras a lot shakier  than last time because there was more potholes on my route this time.  🙂

var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push([‘_setAccount’, ‘UA-25522671-1’]); _gaq.push([‘_trackPageview’]); (function() { var ga = document.createElement(‘script’); ga.type = ‘text/javascript’; ga.async = true; ga.src = (‘https:’ == document.location.protocol ? ‘https://ssl’ : ‘http://www’) + ‘.google-analytics.com/ga.js’; var s = document.getElementsByTagName(‘script’)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })();

    Bus ride….my kid is on the bus for over a hour each way I told the school that was to long but was told call transportation I did they would not change the route but told me I could always transport him myself.
    Whenever I need to talk to the teacher it have to be doing his one on one time in order that other students get their time unless the their mothers want to use their child one on one time to have a conference..his aide say nothing but hello and bye anything I ask her she refer me to the teacher so to ask her to text me anything is a joke.
    My kid stays on the bus about 20 minutes I ask if they could take him off ASAP the said no they can only unload in a certain area and since the other students must so do he. I ask what if he have a major meltdown I was told if he doesn't follow a verbal request the bus driver makes that decision for school staff are not allow on the bus pre union. They let me know that since the district can't afford to pay overtime his aide let it me known she leaves at 3:30 no matter what if the bus is late or if I'm late so he'll be left in the office with the principle who keeps his distance.

    I'm pretty sure our kids are in the same school…and yes, it's an amazing school…My son was transferred from a small private school about 3 years ago because they weren't able to manage his behaviors…this school can, and they have done an amazing job…:)

  4. Glad the transition is going smoothly – hearing that he's mellow and sleeping well is nice; and hearing that the school is doing a good job helping him and you is wonderful!

    So happy to hear that things are working out with the school bus situation. What a relief! Also, it is nice to see you relaxed and obviously enjoying a period of peace and quiet at home. I know all too well how good those feel. I hope this will last a long time for you and your family.
    One more thing: you are an awesome dad! Kyle is so lucky to have you as his dad.
