A quick video update on how the king is doing

Here’s a quick update on how the king is doing with regards to autism, epilepsy/seizures, limping, breath holding, etc.

var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push([‘_setAccount’, ‘UA-25522671-1’]); _gaq.push([‘_trackPageview’]); (function() { var ga = document.createElement(‘script’); ga.type = ‘text/javascript’; ga.async = true; ga.src = (‘https:’ == document.location.protocol ? ‘https://ssl’ : ‘http://www’) + ‘.google-analytics.com/ga.js’; var s = document.getElementsByTagName(‘script’)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })();

I’m a 48 year old neurotypical dad with a 14 year old son with severe, non-verbal autism & epilepsy. I created this blog to rant about autism & epilepsy while celebrating my son who I affectionately call “the king” :-).

  1. Lily holds her breath mostly at night. Not sure if she does it because it's a tired stim or what. She doesn't hold her throat…just her breath.

  2. Glad to see the seizures are getting better that is huge!!! My son has sib also he pinches himself he has little bruises all over his torso. Breathe holding is much worse I hope you find the answer for redirecting him. Autism is just unbelievable every time I think we are doing better something else happens but your right thats life. Even though it sucks sometimes you have to look for the positive side or just be miserable but people are couting on you to keep pushing forward sorry for the feeling dump. Keep your head up you and your wife are doing a great job.

    I have two babies. My son is two and four months and my daughter is one and two months. They were both diagnosed with autism on July 8th. I enjoy reading the stuff u write. I am not new to autism I also have an eleven yr old nephew and a 8 yr old niece on the spectrum. It is totally different when they r ur own. My mother is a fan of ur page and made me one as well. I think u r a great father. And ur wife is as well. I live alone with my babies. My husband left. My son already regressed and lost almost all of his speech. My daughter never has spoke a word barely makes noises and has a very flat personality. I love them with everything I have. Stuff u write makes me a stronger better mother and me. Ty for sharing ur experiences. I also on another note had my first day out for a couple hours without my kids to a lunch date with my angel. My mother. It was nice. U r an inspiration to me and many ppl. God bless u and ur family. 🙂
