Some info about AUTISM DADDY and my page...

Basic Information

Release Date
ranting & telling it like it is since April 2011

About
If you are new to this page I'd suggest you read all my FB Notes from bottom to top to get a better understanding of me, my wife & son, his autism & where this page is coming from. You can find all my Notes @ http://www.facebook.com/AutismDaddy?sk=notes

Description
I'm a 41 year old dad with an 8 year old son with severe autism. My wife is an Autism Mommy Rock Star! But she doesn't like me RANTING about autism too much on Facebook to our friends & family. So I've created this anonymous Page with which to rant about autism and celebrate my son "Kyle" :-)

I LOVE my son, but I don't love his autism. He was given a raw deal. He has severe autism and it gets in his way with EVERYTHING. So this page will be 75% comedically ranting & complaining & telling it like it is and 25% inspirational & warm & cuddly & feel good stories...

Ok, maybe more like 80 / 20... :-)

--------------------------------------

All people are welcome on this page regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs. I want this autism page to be (for the most part) free from all the debates i see on alot of other autism pages about whether certain vaccines cause autism, whether Autism Speaks is good or evil, whether this treatment is better than that treatment (trust me we've tried them all), whether using meds on our kids is good or bad, etc, etc.

  1. I had to laugh about your eye glass story. My son went through the same phase with eye glasses and just ripped them off people's faces. We know Lens Crafter a lil too well. I find that special need parents have so much more of a sense of humor and I'm sure it's because we have to but it's nice to know we are all going through similar struggles, fears and goals. It's nice to see a father's point of view because most don't want to say much at all. I'm sure once your wife finds out you'll have a great following of readers to let her know that we all need the support and sharing the stories may just help at least one other family.
